After the meditation I asked them if any of them saw any ‘pictures’ or ‘movies’ in their mind while sitting still. It was great to see that all the children were closing their eyes and sat still for a while, I can see they are starting to get familiar with the frog meditation. The book contains eleven practices that focus on just these scenarios, along with short examples and anecdotes throughout. We started the lesson with sitting still and noticing feelings. In a simple and accessible way, it describes what mindfulness is and how mindfulness-based practices can help children calm down, become more focused, fall asleep more easily, alleviate worry, manage anger, and generally become more patient and aware. This little book is a very appealing introduction to mindfulness meditation for children and their parents.
